# Plasma balls
## Motivation
For [[1998#Horowitz, Myers]] soliton, precisely at the deconfinement temperature, the period of the Euclidean time circle and that of the Scherk–Schwarz circle become equal. Moreover, at this critical temperature the pressure of the plasma vanishes. This suggests that there might exist a solution of the Einstein equations in the bulk which interpolates between the AdS soliton geometry (confined phase) and the planar Schwarzschild–AdS black hole (deconfined phase). This expectation turns out to be correct, and [[2005#Aharony, Minwalla, Wiseman]] constructed, numerically, such a solution.
